Paganini 24 Caprices - Augustin Hadelich. Album out now!
The winner in 2015 of the inaugural Warner Music Prize, Hadelich now releases his first recording for Warner Classics, Paganini’s 24 Caprices for solo violin. First published in 1820, they are works of proverbial virtuosity, conceived by the flamboyant genius Nicolò Paganini to test and showcase every aspect of a violinist’s skills, including such feats as left-hand pizzicato and double-stopped trills. Like Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas and the Sonatas of Eugène Ysaÿe, the Caprices stand as one of the greatest collections of works ever written for unaccompanied violin.
