A rarely seen look at the business end of a young skunk as it interacts with a Raccoon. Narrow white lines go up and down the back of the tail and legs leading to the scent gland and can only be seen when the tail is raised high and ready to spray. If one does not get this clear message to give me my space then a spray will follow. BTW those loud crickets etc. are a late summer deep forest phenomena that will become much louder in the coming weeks as the katydids join in.
