徐悲鴻 Xu Beihong

Xu Beihong (simplified Chinese:徐悲鸿; traditional Chinese: 徐悲鴻; pinyin: Xú Bēihóng) was born in Yixing, China. He was primarily known for his shuimohua (Chinese ink paintings) of horses and birds and one of the first Chinese artists to articulate the need for artistic expressions that reflected a new modern China atthe beginning of the 20th century. He was also regarded as one of the first to create monumental oil paintings with epic Chinese themes - a show of his high proficiency in an essential Western art technique.
Xu Beihong (cinese semplificato: 徐悲鸿; cinese tradizionale: 徐悲鸿; pinyin: XU Bēihóng; Yixing, 1895 -- 1953) è stato un artista cinese.
Conosciuto soprattutto per i suoi shuimohua di cavalli e uccelli, dipinti a inchiostro cinese, e menzionato come uno dei primi artisti cinesi ad articolare il bisogno delle espressioni artistiche in modo da riflettere una nuova Cina moderna all'inizio del XX secolo, é considerato come uno dei primi a creare dipinti a olio monumentale con temi epici cinesi - un'esibizione della sua alta competenza in una tecnica essenziale dell'arte occidentale.
