Northern Bobwhite Quail and Eastern Meadowlark Singing Contest – Grassland Birds Got Talent!
t's early morning in the Florida Prairie during the spring breeding season and I'm being treated to a rare song contest between two iconic grassland birds - a bob white and an eastern meadowlark. This can go on for hours. As always red winged blackbirds are trying to dominate the soundscape that's why the bobwhite and meadowlark have their own unique distinctive songs to stand out in the vast prairie.
