Based on Florence Reece’s 1931 protest song, Frederic Rzewski's stirring piece Which Side Are You On? acts as the opening to Conrad Tao's album American Rage. Discover here:
Also included on the album are Rzewski's Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues, Julia Wolfe's Compassion, and Aaron Copland's Piano Sonata. "This is a program I have been performing in some form since 2015," says Conrad, "and since then my faith has only grown that this music points towards nothing less than a vision of humanity."
