A mating pair of huge Great Horned Owls have claimed the area around the Backyard as their territory. The Hawks do not like the big owls – they are known for snatching their young right out of their nests at night. Another issue is that the tiny Eastern Screech Owls are also getting ready to start raising a new generation of owlets - and they are at risk of becoming prey for the big owls. So they'll have to be on guard.
