Ian Bostridge and Antonio Pappano perform Mahler’s ‘Revelge’, taken from the collection Des Knaben Wunderhorn.
An ironic, yet tragic song of war, it appears on the album REQUIEM, which marks the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. It also includes works by Kurt Weill and two composers of promise and achievement whose lives were cut short by the Great War, the Englishman George Butterworth and the German Rudi Stephan (1887-1915). The release date for REQUIEM is October 26, 2018.
