Intelligent World Drive in the Mercedes-Benz S-Class | 60 Seconds

Christoph von Hugo, Head of Active Safety at Daimler AG, explains the idea of the Intelligent World Drive, an automated test drive on five continents which was launched in Frankfurt (Main) at the IAA 2017. With Intelligent World Drive, Mercedes-Benz wants to lay the foundation to design automated systems in different parts of the world, which will help customers in many situations.

Until January 2018, this Mercedes-Benz S‑Class, which has been automated for test purposes, will face a variety of complex traffic situations. In the process, it will gather valuable experience on the road to autonomous driving. After the launch in Germany, the next test drive in the course of the Intelligent World Drive will take place in China followed by others in Australia in November and South Africa in December. The final stop of the tour will be the CES in Las Vegas in January.
