Joyce DiDonato's album launch for the classical chart-topping Stella di Napoli (Star of Naples) on Friday 3 October was held in what is far from a traditional venue for opera: the converted warehouse Gowanus Ballroom, above a Brooklyn metal works factory. Bringing 19th-century music into an urban, modern setting for this intimate recital, the mezzo-soprano was joined by Brooklyn-based company LoftOpera for this unforgettable night of music without boundaries.
