First broadcasted on 21 October 2018, on Arte: ‘Ludwig van Beethoven, late sonatas by Alexandre Tharaud’, a film directed Mariano Nante. The performance sequences, filmed in an abandoned mansion, evoke the work of the great Russian director Andrei Tarkovsky.
Alexandre Tharaud has just released his first album devoted entirely to Beethoven: the composer’s last three piano sonatas: No 30 (op 109), No 31 (op 110) and No 32 (op 111).
