A big Red-Tailed Hawk perches atop a long leaf pine tree in the Backyard. These big birds of prey are not a serious threat to Backyard birds at feeders and squirrels here because of the close heavy cover - they need a little more room and open space to maneuver, so like this one they are looking toward the conservation area behind the Backyard.
