The BMW M family has grown. For the very first time, BMW M offers the BMW X3 M and X4 M.
In this video, we'll have a look at the driving dynamics of these cars. Under the hood, there is a newly developed six-cylinder in-line engine in two variants. The engine stands out with its familiar M high-revving character, the latest M TwinPower Turbo technology update, plus track-tested cooling and oil supply systems. It develops 353 kW/480 hp in the BMW X3 M and BMW X4 M, and an extra 30 hp in the Competition models. A peak torque of 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) is transfered by the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission and catapults you to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds. The Competition models hit the 100 km/h (62 mph) mark in a mere 4.1 seconds. The M specific suspension is individually configurable for anything between maximum driving dynamics and long distance comfort. The M xDrive with active M differential also plays its part in giving the BMW X3 M, BMW X4 M and Competition models their sublime performance attributes.
BMW X3 M / X3 M Competition and BMW X4 M / X4 M Competition: Fuel consumption (combined): 10.5 l/100km; CO2 emissions (combined): 239 g/km.
The fuel consumption and CO2 emission figures are determined according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version applicable. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany. They consider the different sizes of the selected wheels/tyres and the selected items of optional equipment, and may vary during configuration.
The values are based on the new WLTP test cycle and have been translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in order to ensure comparability between the vehicles. With respect to these vehicles, for vehicle-related taxes or other duties based (at least inter alia) on CO2 emissions, the CO2 values may differ from the values stated here (depending on national legislation).
Correct as at: 13.02.2019.
Further information on official fuel consumption figures and specific CO2 emission values of new passenger cars is included in the following guideline: 'Leitfaden über den Kraftstoffverbrauch, die CO2-Emissionen und den Stromverbrauch neuer Personenkraftwagen' (Guide to the fuel economy, CO2 emissions and electric power consumption of new passenger cars), which can be obtained free of charge from all dealerships in Germany, from Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH (DAT), Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern-Scharnhausen and at .
The worldwide market launch of the of the BMW X3 M, BMW X4 M and Competition models will begin in July 2019.
