Two Red Bellied Woodpecker Eggs Hatch on July 4th

Red Bellied Woodpeckers moved into the nest box after the Screech Owls left and now have two eggs - Surprise! Woodpeckers are large, very loud and charismatic birds and the male is very involved in caring for the eggs and raising the hatchlings so this should be a lot of fun ! The male has the full red head and the female a white forehead so they are easy to tell apart on the color outside camera. Pay close attention and you'll catch the male sitting on the eggs at times.
