Every year we make our customers’ festive season even more jolly with a gift. Everyone who buys a 12-Month Ticket for the Digital Concert Hall by 24 December can also request a free DVD edition. This year, we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall with two memorable concerts with Sir Simon Rattle and Daniel Barenboim. Just a few weeks ago, the Berliner Philharmoniker and Simon Rattle celebrated this anniversary with a gala performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. In addition to this recording, our edition includes the historic 1989 concert which the Berliner Philharmoniker gave with Daniel Barenboim for citizens of the GDR just after the fall of the Wall. This double DVD is a valuable collector’s item in a limited edition of 1,000 copies which is not commercially available.
