Odie and Luna's three little owlets, Archer, Athena and Aurora fledged the first week of May and I often get questions about how they are doing or if I still see them. So this is an update as of June 7th, 2025. First off this is not the best quality video because it was taken in near darkness with the night vision mode of my new phone, but you get the idea. All three are on their own now - the parents are doing their own thing most likely further back into the forest or “jungle” as I call it. The 3 owlets stick together mostly still hunting right in the Backyard and roosting in the big oak trees. I can hear them every night around sunset. There is plenty of food around the Backyard so they haven't gone very far. All three seem to be doing quite well, As summer progresses they will gradually disperse further away and come November or so if Odie and Luna are still in good health they will begin claiming the territory around the nest box in preparation for breeding and start chasing off the kids if they are still around.
