On 21 June 2015, the Berliner Philharmoniker elected Kirill Petrenko as their future chief conductor by a large majority. In the spring of 2017, the programme of his first acclaimed concert since his election included works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and John Adams. During this interval feature, which was recorded during rehearsals, Kirill Petrenko met Olaf Maninger, principal cellist and media board chair of the Berliner Philharmoniker. The conductor talks about how much he is looking forward to working with the orchestra and explains the principles of his rehearsals.
