When unexpected events drive Mandie Shaw from her log cabin home in 1899, she convinces her Cherokee friends to guide the way through North Carolina's treacherous Blue Ridge Mountains to her potential new home. They reach her Uncle John's extravagant mansion, only to discover that his ship has been lost at sea. However, caretaker Jason Bond allows Mandie to remain when strangers arrive claiming to be heirs to Uncle John's fortune. Mandie and her friends find themselves in a race through hidden passageways and rooms to find Uncle John's missing will. Driven by stories her Father used to tell, Mandie scrambles to piece together the clues and outwit the imposters before they steal her future. In the end she discovers not only a magnificent surprise from her past but also her future.
