I encountered this Gray squirrel in a remote section of the Green Swamp in Florida. It was not used to humans or any hunting pressure and treated me as a low-level threat by watching me closely and rapidly waving its tail while making no sound. A sort of silent alarm. Although we can't hear the rapid tail wagging I know from experience with trail cameras that the tail wagging does make a low frequency noise that nearby squirrels can hear. This alarm just means be alert, a suspicious animal is about. It is a visual and subtle audible signal to other squirrels. I have left the original sound intact. #wildlife #squirrel #animallovers
