Stages Power Meter trouble shooting guide.
1. Check for water drops in the unit. If wet let dry out overnight with the battery cap off.
2.Replace with a QUALITY NEW battery to check it works. Try with your old battery again. Use the old battery if it works to save on landfill. Use the new battery just as a test unit.
3. See if the Stages will pair with your smart phone by installing the Stages App on it. Sometimes garmins don't work but the phone does.
4. If the garmin is dropping out make sure you have updated the Garmin unit via Garmin Express on your computer. Garmin Express makes it easy to keep on top of the lastest software updates.
5. Calibrate your Stages by placing your bike against a wall with no pressure on the pedals. Place LH crank at 6oclock and hit calibrate on your phone or garmin.
6. If that doenst work check the gold battery tabs are not compressed. You can CAREFULLY raise them with 2 scalpels if you have surgical fingers like me. Otherwise let someone else do it.
7. I calibrate any power meter before any Strava segment Im doing so I get the most accurate numbers.
