Ensemble Amsterdam Sinfonietta, led by violinist Candida Thompson, plays the world premiere of the piece 'Nachtmuziek' (night music) by Dutch composer Mathilde Wantenaar. The concert takes place in concert hall TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht and is part of the series AVROTROS Vrijdagconcert.
'Nachtmuziek' is an ode to Hungarian composer Béla Bartók, written by the Dutch composer Mathilde Wantenaar. It's an adaptation of an octet she wrote in 2017. The version for strings has several hight notes that float in the air like dust, ready to fall on the ground.
