Eastern Wood Pewee Song

The call of the eastern wood-pewee singing their sweet "pewee" song. It is a small olive-brown tyrant flycatcher that is hard to film as it hunts small insects from perches high in mostly deciduous trees. This is the first time I got one one singing on video and they were 40 feet high in the dense forest of the Great Smoky Mountains. They are not called Peewee's because they are small, but because their sweet high-pitched calls sound like peewee - crank up the volume to enjoy this sweet sound of the deep forest..
