Warblers, like this stunning male Prothonotary Warbler, are insect eaters, and typically rapidly forage through dense vegetation - rarely staying still long enough in the open to get a good picture let alone video. But I was fortunate to capture this little mini-drama between bird and prey. Warblers instinctively check out spider webs to steal any captured bugs from the spiders, a habit called Kleptoparasitism. But their holy grail is a caterpillar such as this brownish green inch-worm type caterpillars that's actually about two inches long. These type of caterpillars try to camouflage themselves as small tree or bush branches – basically a stick. Sometimes it works - sometimes it doesn't. The warbler - scanning rapidly at first misses the caterpillar, but gets it in the end and takes it to the female sitting on the nest nearby.
