Game of Thrones is one of my favorite shows, so in celebration of season 8 I wanted to do a Game of Thrones themed video! In the show there is a substance that can kill white walkers (essentially zombies) called dragon glass.

So today we’re going to create our own dragon glass dagger with my good friend and professional glass blower Catherine Gray!

Dragon glass is made of obsidian which is volcanic glass, of which has roughly a 70% composition of silicon dioxide. Most common glass that we use for bottles and cups also has around 70% silicon dioxide. So obsidian and glass are basically the same substance chemically speaking.

since glass and obsidian are so similar were going to create a glass blade and then add some obsidian to the outside of it and try to get it to melt into the glass!
