Ingredients List

1-2 tbsp oil
1 medium onion
2 cloves garlic
2 bay leaves
500g fresh tomatoes / 2 cans chopped tomatoes
1 tbsp tomato purée
3 cups vegetable stock/broth
1/2 tsp salt and black pepper or to taste
1-2 tbsp basil
1 tbsp sugar (to balance acidity)
1/4 cup Fresh cream/double cream (optional)
Parmesan cheese (optional)
